I made this project as an ode to mushrooms, my favorite food, and one of my favorite things. I started with researching the most aesthetically pleasing mushrooms, my favorite mushrooms, and the coolest properties mushrooms can have. I settled on these three because of the variance in properties and nature between them all.
Needle felting is a process by which one takes wool roving and, by using a barbed needle tool, changes the texture to a solid made of felt. This process in its wet form is one of the oldest textile art forms used today.
